Energy Project RFP Alert - US PA - Union Township Bid - Hvac System Replacement

Separate sealed bids will be received in duplicate by Union Township until 11.00 A.M. prevailing time, on Friday, September 14, 2012 for the Monocacy Administration Building HVAC System Replacement Project - Contracts A: HVAC/General and B: Electrical for the replacement of existing HVAC system at 1445 East Main Street, Douglassville, PA 19518. Bids will be opened immediately following the closing of the receipt of the bids at 11:00 A.M. prevailing time. Bids should be mailed or hand delivered to the office of Union Township at 1445 East Main Street, Douglassville, PA 19518. A prebid conference will be held at the Township Building - Monocacy Administration Building on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. prevailing time. All BIDDERS who will be submitting bids to the Township must register and purchase a complete set of the Bid Documents from SDE. Copies of the Bid Documents shall be obtained and can be examined at the office of Systems Design Engineering, Inc., located at 1032 James Drive, Leesport, PA 19533. Cost of a document set is fifty dollars ($50.00). Priority mailing will be at the Bidder's expense. Checks should be made payable to Systems Design Engineering, Inc. NO refund will be given. All Contracts exceeding $10,000.00 shall be performed in compliance with Executive Order 11246, entitled, "Equal Employment Opportunity," as amended by Executive Order 11375 and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations (41 CFR Part 60). Each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Surety Company's Bid Bond on the form provided in the Bid Documents, naming as payee or Obligee, Union Township in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted. The Surety Company must be acceptable to said Township. The successful BIDDER will be required to execute the Agreement and to furnish a "Performance Bond" and a "Payment Bond" all on the respective forms provided in the Contract Documents. The Contractor also will be required to furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Contract Documents. Bids will be presented for consideration of award at the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors to be held at 7:00 P.M. prevailing time on the Monday, September 17, 2012. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the above specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of Bid, except as specifically may be provided by law. The wages paid on this project will be subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented. Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statues, rules, and regulations dealing with the prevention of environment pollution and the preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project. Union Township reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, and to delete any item or portion of an item without affecting the Bids on the remaining items or portion of items. The above invitation to Bidders is made for the benefit of the Union Township and no rights shall be deemed to accrue to any person making a Bid by reason of the submission of any bid hereunder or by waiver or non-enforcement of any provision or requirement of this invitation. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of Bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any Bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. The award of the Contract and the issuance of Notice to Proceed shall be contingent upon the approval of the Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Agreement and the Certificates of Insurance.
