The Operational Contracting, Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit and award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to provide and install one Liebert HVAC unit under the authority of FAR 13.106(b) to Engineered Cooling Services, 710 Medtronic Pkwy Minneapolis, MN 55432-5604. A maintenance and repair contract exists with the Engineered Cooling Services Company for these HVAC systems. Since this new system will be connected to the existing system, using a different contractor will invalidate existing warranties and could violate current service contracts. To avoid potential contractual litigations, to minimize cost, and to reduce disruptions to existing contractual agreements, sole source procurement of the Liebert Cooling System is required. Anticipated award date is 29 August 2012.
