The Project includes the replacement of steam boilers at the West Orange Public Schools Washington School, 289 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052. All bids are for a single prime contract. Individual Sealed Bids for this contract will be received by the West Orange Board of Education Office at 179 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, on May 22, 2012, 11:45 A.M. local time, and will be opened and read aloud immediately thereafter. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to Mark Kenney, Business Administrator, with the name of the project plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every Bid must be accompanied by an unconditional certified check, cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid but not in excess of $20,000.00. Bidding documents must be picked up in person; no documents will be mailed or sent by commercial messenger, shipping service or similar means. Bidding documents may be examined and/or obtained during the regular business hours of 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., beginning April 28, 2012 at the West Orange Board of Education, Buildings and Grounds Office, 179 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052. A Pre-Bid walk through is scheduled for May 1, 2012, at 10:30 AM. at the West Orange Washington School, 289 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052. Addendum shall be released to all registered Bidders and may be obtained directly from the Buildings and Grounds office on May 11, 2012. Expected completion date will be sixty (60) days from the date of contract award. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements of employment to be observed and prevailing rate to be paid under the Contracts pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34: 11-56.25 . seq. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual opening of the bid thereof pursuant to N.J.S.A. 1 8A-36. The Owner intends to award contracts for this work in accordance with the law.
