Sealed bids for 1700 Beaver Grade Road Roof and HVAC Replacement Project, Moon Township, Pennsylvania, will be received at the Moon Township Municipal Building, 1000 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA 15108, until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 . Shortly thereafter the bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at the Moon Township offices. Roofing and HVAC bids will be received separately. The roofing work consists of the removal and replacement of about 5,300 SF of EPDM roofing and other Work as further described in the Contract Documents. The HVAC work consists of installation of two 10-ton HVAC roof top units, removal and replacement of roof-top duct work, and other Work as further described in the Contract Documents. Since the roofing and HVAC work must be closely coordinated a single set of bidding documents includes both sets of contract requirements. There are one substitute alternate bid and two add alternate bids. The Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined at the Moon Township office and obtained from Michael Baker Jr., Inc, Airside Business Park, 100 Airside Drive, Moon Township, Pennsylvania 15108 (412-269-6047). The cost for picking up a set of Bidding and Contract Documents is $50.00 which is to be paid by check or money order to Michael Baker Jr., Inc. Bid documents will be shipped after receipt of an additional $20.00 fee. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1700 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Bids must be submitted on prescribed forms furnished with the bid documents. The bid form must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, with an original Power of Attorney, a certified check, or a cashier's check in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid amount made in favor of Moon Township. Facsimiles will not be accepted and will provide cause for rejection of the bid. No bidder shall withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening. Moon Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to award contracts deemed to be in the best interest of Moon Township. The successful bidder shall furnish a bond guaranteeing performance of the contract in an amount of 100 percent of the contract price within 20 days after the contract is awarded.
