Bid Description:
1. Demolition and Disposal:
1. Cut up, remove, and properly dispose the following equipment from boiler room and premises: Two (2) Cleaver Brooks (1962) steam boilers; Boiler breechings; Boiler base stands; All piping that will not be utilized for new equipment; Hot water tank (abandoned). 2.All demolition materials must be removed off site and properly disposed of. 3. All dumpsters shall be supplied by Contractor. 4. Remove six (6) expansion tanks and install new diaphragm style tanks ASME rated and sized to building requirements.
2. Equipment and Installation:
1. Install two (2) Viessmann Vitorond 200 VD2-630 hot water boiler-or-Owner approved equal. 2. Boiler package shall consist of Riello dual fuel burners, Vitocontrol- s VD2 Cascade controls, and 100% boiler flow package. 3. A boiler submittal shall be provided with bid. 4. Install new supply and return boiler isolation valves for each boiler. 5. Primary loop piping (if necessary) for new boilers. 6. A new gas line shall be installed from existing meter set to new boilers dedicated for interruptible service. 7. Oil pumps shall be relocated to area near boiler and not be a trip hazard. 8. Combustion air must comply with current code regulations. 9. Re-pipe return header and connect to existing pumps.
3. Licensing and Certification:
1. All welders are to be certified by ASME, Section #9. 2. All installers must hold an OSHA 10 card. 3. All supervisors must hold an OSHA 30 card.
4. Inspection and Schedule:
1. Chimney inspection will be performed by the Town of Fairfield. 2. Complete installation and commissioning of all equipment must be finalized by 27th August, 2012.
5. Abatement:
1. Asbestos testing and abatement will be performed by the Town of Fairfield.
