The Mercer County Board of Education will receive sealed bids for: Princeton High School HVAC Renovations Phase II 1321 Stafford Drive Princeton, WV 24740 Bids will be opened June 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m . Provide one original and two copies to Leslie M. Wellman at the address printed below. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time in the Conference Room of the Mercer County Board of Education. Provide an additional convenience copy to ZDS, the Engineer, 91 Smiley Drive, St. Albans, West Virginia 25177. Leslie M. Wellman Director of Purchasing/Audit Mercer County Board of Education 1403 Honaker Avenue Princeton, WV 24740 A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 , at Princeton High School, 1321 Stafford Drive, Princeton, West Virginia 24740. Any Prime Bidder who fails to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting will cause that Bid to be disqualified. Attendees will be led to the school for walk-through following the meeting. Bidders and material suppliers may obtain a set of Specifications and Construction Drawings with a $250.00 non-refundable fee paid for each set. A CD version is available for $75.00 non-refundable fee paid. Checks should be sent and made payable to ZDS Design/Consulting Services , 91 Smiley Drive, St. Albans, West Virginia 25177, Phone 304-755-0075. Only those who obtain plans through ZDS will receive Addendums. ZDS does not recommend the distribution of parts of sets. Contractors and suppliers who obtain partial sets have full responsibility for coordinating information with other portions of the bidding documents to assure a full and accurate estimate of the work required. The contract documents are on file in the office of the Engineer (ZDS), Kanawha Valley Builders Association, Contractors Association of WV, and in the Mercer County Board of Education Office where any interested party may refer to them during regular office hours. Bid package is available by contacting ZDS at 304-755-0075. Bids shall be submitted in accordance with instructions in Specifications, and each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to Mercer County Board of Education, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days and that if his bid is accepted, bidder will enter into formal contract with Owner, that the required bond will be given, and that in the event of the withdrawal of said bid within the time specified, the bidder shall be liable to the Owner on account of default of the bidder in any particular thereof. The bid bonds of all unsuccessful bidders will be returned when contract and bond have been executed. All Prime Contractors and Subcontractors shall be licensed in compliance with West Virginia Code Chapter 21, Article 11 (Contractor Licensing Act). All Prime contractors shall include their West Virginia Contractor License Number in their Bid Proposal.
