Sealed bids will be received by the CITY OF MARIETTA, GEORGIA, BOARD LIGHTS AND WATER, PURCHASING DEPARTMENT, FIRST FLOOR, CITY HALL, 205 LAWRENCE STREET, MARIETTA, GEORGIA 30060 until: JUNE 21, 2012, 10:00 A.M., Local Time For the construction of: CITY OF MARIETTA/ BOARD OF LIGHTS AND WATER ROSWELL STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM DODD STREET TO U.S. 41 BID NUMBER RFB 062112 At which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the designated time will not be considered. CONTRACTORS AND THEIR SUBCONTRACTORS MUST BE ON THE GEORGIA DOT's QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS/SUBCONTRACTORS LIST. A non mandatory prebid conference will be held at 9:00 a.m. on June 5, 2012 , at the City of Marietta Public Works Department - 2nd floor conference room, 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, skills, equipment, and incidentals for the construction of the aforementioned project. The principal items of construction include roadway widening, surface parking lot construction, installation of sidewalk and crosswalk pavers, traffic signal upgrades, pedestrianlighting, signage and landscape improvements. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws, and comply with same. Plans, specifications and contract documents are open to public inspection at the office of Atkins North America Inc., 1600 RiverEdge Parkway, N.W. Suite 600, Atlanta, Georgia 30328 or the City of Marietta, Dept. of Public Works, 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, GA30060. Plans and contract documents may be obtained from Atkins North America Inc., 1600 RiverEdge Parkway, N.W. Suite 600, Atlanta, Georgia 30328 upon payment of $250.00. No refund will be made. All questions concerning the project shall be addressed to Mr. Michael R. Moseley Jr., (770) 933-0280, email: michael.moseley@atkinsglobal.com (preferred method). Questions will not be responded to after June 12, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Answers will be provided and shared with all bidders. One contract will be awarded covering all of the work, and the time for completion shall be 270 calendar days. Due consideration will be made with respect to time charged to the project based on the relocation of utilities. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check on a duly organized bank made payable to the City of Marietta/Board of Lights and Water or a bid bond executed by the bidder and surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Georgia, in the sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Said check or bond will be returned to unsuccessful bidders as soon as the Contract between the Owner and the successful bidder has been executed by the Owner. All bids must be made out on the bid form furnished in the contract documents, in accordance with the instructions in the Information for Bidders. No interlineations, additions or deletions shall be made in the bid form by the bidder. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
