Bid Description:
This project will construct two (2) independent solar water heating systems for two (2) facilities at NSA Souda Bay. These facilities have high water resources consumption profiles; Bldg. 2 (Base Galley) and Bldg. 66 (Gym). The systems consist of multiple solar panel arrays installed on the roofs of each facility with interconnections to existing hot water heating units within the facilities. Before installation, the contractor will be required to manually gauge the underground storage tanks which supply boilers with fuel oil using EPA's "Manual Tank Gauging For Small Underground Storage Tanks" method. Tanks will be gauged monthly during the heating season. Manual Tank Gauging Record will be maintained by the Utilities and Energy Manager. A fuel usage baseline will be developed from this data. After installation, and for two consecutive heating seasons, the contractor will be required to measure in accordance with EPA's "Manual Tank Gauging For Small Underground Storage Tanks" method. After installation fuel usage will be compared to before installation usage, providing actual fuel savings.
