RFQ Description:
The Piedmont Triad has embarked on a cooperative effort designed to strengthen its
communities and promote a sustainable future for the 12-county region – the Piedmont Triad
Sustainable Communities Planning Project (SCPP). As part of this project, PART and its project
team seek to provide a “local sustainable development plan” (LSDP) for 12 cities or towns in the
region. This RFQ seeks a design team that will assist with planning, and executing charrettes in 11
sites throughout the Triad by December 31st
, 2012. The first site and design planning team has
been selected for Randolph County. Development of the LSDP will be based upon a format
provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) contained in Exhibit A. This format will
be used in the charrette planned for Randolph County in late May, 2012. The LSDP will consist of
four components to be provided by the Applicant: 1) site visit to proposed location in advance of
charrette 2) meeting w/ SCPP to prepare for charrette 3) time working at 2 day charrette 4)
writing the final reports with illustrations for each location. The specific site will be an abandoned
