Energy Project RFP Alert - US IL - Department Of The Army BID - Replace Factory Lighting And Provide Automatic Lighting Controls

Description:
The scope of the work involves but is not limited to the following description of work. This project will replace existing lighting in portions of building 299 with more energy efficient lighting. The affected area where new lighting fixtures and/or lighting controls will be installed is between 350,000 and 450,000 square feet. Some existing metal halide fixtures will be replaced with fluorescent fixtures. In certain areas less efficient fluorescent fixtures will be replaced with more efficient fluorescent fixtures. A lighting control scheme will be installed that also incorporates occupancy sensors. Dimming and daylight harvesting will be incorporated in certain areas. The Government will provide scope drawings and other existing information to the contractor, but the contractor will also be expected to do final design drawings. The contractor will also be expected to perform measurement and verification of selected areas comparing existing energy usage and energy usage after installation of the new systems and new light fixtures. The rough order of magnitude for this proposed procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement is set aside to small business, NAICS code 238210/$14,000,000. The solicitation, scope of work and specifications will be available on or about May 14, 2012. The solicitation and specification will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided.
