Energy Project RFP Alert - US AR - Hendrix College Bid - Energy Efficiency Improvements

Hendrix College, in partnership with the William J. Clinton Climate Initiative’s (CCI) Home Energy Affordability Loan (HEAL) Program, and the State of Arkansas Energy Office (AEO), is conducting an open competition for construction of the following project: Energy Efficiency Improvements to Hendrix College, 1600 Washington Avenue, Conway, AR (Federal Grant # ARRCI-AEO-ARRA-009-001) The objective of this project is to implement a series of HVAC and boiler upgrades on the college’s campus. Qualified prime contractors with experience replacing heavy-duty HVAC units and commercial boilers are invited to bid. Construction documents for this project will be available for review beginning Monday, September 17th, 2012 at Southern Reprographics, 901 West Seventh Street, Little Rock, AR 72201. To provide all bidding parties with an opportunity to tour the facility and submit any questions related to the work, a pre-bid conference has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 25th at 10 AM at Hendrix College Facilities Management Headquarters, 1601 Harkrider Street, Conway, AR 72034. Please note that this meeting will be mandatory for all bidding parties. Failure to attend will result in automatic disqualification. Sealed bids are due by 2 PM on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012, at CCI HEAL Headquarters, 610 President Clinton Avenue, Second Floor, Little Rock, AR 72201. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount, made payable to Hendrix College as listed on the Bid Bond form, must accompany the bid. Awarded contractors will be further required to secure a performance bond for one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. This is a prime bid offering. Funds for this project have been made available through the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and derive from the U.S. Department of Energy. Accordingly, awarded contractors will be required to comply with all federal regulations and policies made clear in the project specifications. Hendrix College and its representatives reserve the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any formality or technicality in the interest of the state and/or federal government.
