ROBERT AUGHBININBAUGH Director of Physical Facilities 181 Main Street Presque Isle, ME 04769-2888 Sealed Bids may also be hand delivered to 181 Main Street Presque Isle, ME 04769-2888 All Sealed Bids must be delivered or mailed in sufficient time to reach University of Maine at Presque Isle by 2:00PM, July 13, 2012 at which time they will be opened and read aloud in the Support Building, 181 Main Street, Presque Isle, ME. Bids received after the stated time will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Proposals must be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond, as prescribed in Section 00 43 13, for 5% of the Proposal (checks will not be accepted). The University System reserves the right to waive all formalities and reject any and all proposals or to accept any proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond to cover the execution of the contract which shall be in conformity with the form of Bonds contained in Sections 00 61 13.13 and 00 61 13.16 of the Specifications and for the contract amount. Project Summary: The work, in general, involves supply and installation of a new boiler and condensate system in the Emerson Hall basement on the Presque Isle, ME campus. The unit will be a 2360MBH steam boiler capable of utilizing standard #2 heating oil or compressed natural gas (CNG) as a primary fuel. The scope will include complete equipment supply, removal & disposal of the existing system, civil modifications, electrical & mechanical installation. A pre-bid meeting and building walk-through will be held at 9:00AM on June 22, 2012. Contractors will meet at Support Building at 181 Main Street Presque Isle, ME. Bidding contractors and sub-contractors are strongly encouraged to attend. The pre-bid meeting is not mandatory, but no other tours will be given.
