BID Description:
The following design narrative shall serve as a loose specification and basis of design/bid for a heating
water (HW) plant renovation at the San Miguel County Courthouse, located at 305 West Colorado
Avenue, Telluride, CO 81435. The building has a “commercial” occupancy designation. Currently, three
350 MBH input natural draft water boilers on a constant flow primary/secondary heating loop provide
building heat via a combination of finned tube baseboard, natural convection cabinets and fan convection
cabinets.
The three heating water boilers are to be replaced with a minimum of two new boilers sized for building
heating. The existing dedicated domestic hot water system will remain in service unless renovation
conditions dictate otherwise. HW plant capacity (future boiler), pipe connections and controls shall be
anticipated for future DHW heating, a low temperature HW system and snowmelt capability.
