Energy Project RFP Alert - US WY - University Of Wyoming Bid - Lighting Upgrades To Arts And Science, Centennial Complex

Requesting proposals from qualified bidders for Bid Package ES00375-001; Lighting Upgrades to Arts and Science, Centennial Complex, Education Annex and Old Main. This lighting package is number one of four lighting packages included in the Energy Performance Contract. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to award the successful subcontractor the Lighting Upgrades Bid Package ES00375-001 which consists of; replacing and recycling T12 lamps and ballasts to T8 lamps and electronic ballasts, upgrading existing fixtures to CFL's or LED's, installing occupancy sensors, retrofitting exit signs to LED and vending machine controls. A mandatory contractor walkthrough will be held on January 3, 2013 at 1:00pm. The goal is to start the construction February 14, 2013, with a projected completion date of May 17, 2013. It is anticipated that the subcontractor will be able to complete their work during normal business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. Qualified subcontractors shall be capable of providing 100% performance and payment bonds and will provide a letter of good standing from their bonding company with the submission of their proposal. Consideration and award of the successful proposal shall compliance with all applicable Wyoming Statues as follows but not limited to; Preference shall be given to Wyoming contractors, subcontractors, laborers and materials W.S. Section 16-6-101. LONG shall be in compliance with W.S. Section 16-6-103, a successful resident bidder shall not subcontract more than thirty percent (30%) of the work covered by their contract to nonresident contractors. Attention is also called to the provisions of W.S. Section 16-6-203 requiring resident labor on the project. Any subcontractors will have to petition the local Workforce services office for resident laborers before hiring and utilizing non-resident laborers hourly waged employees. Proposals must anticipate compliance with the Wyoming Prevailing Wage Act of 1967 W.S. Section 27-4-401, and the prevailing wage rates set forth in the Contract Documents or by Wyoming Workforces Services. LONG in conjunction with the University of Wyoming reserves the privilege of rejecting any or all bids, or waiving any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding. Subcontractors shall not access the premises without approval and escort from LONG Energy Solutions. Completed proposals shall be received at Department 3413, 1000 East University Avenue, Laramie, Wyoming 82071 Merica Hall Rm202 on or before January 10, 2013 at or before 2:00 p.m. MST. Proposals will be publicly opened after 2:00 p.m. at Merica Hall RM 217. Any proposal received after 2:00 p.m. shall be rejected and will not be opened. Proposals shall be sealed in an envelope with the following information clearly written on the cover.
