Energy Project RFP Alert - US AK - The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Bid - Station 61 Lighting Upgrades

Description:
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting quotes from interested contractors to remove and
replace the light fixtures and lights in the emergency vehicle bays at the Central Mat-Su Public
Safety Building, Public Safety Building #6-1, at 101 West Swanson Avenue, Wasilla. This project
will provide and support equipment and vehicle maintenance with a 50-lumen minimal reading at
the bay floor. This project will include all demolition and proper disposal of the existing lights and
fixtures, installation of the new fixtures, bulbs and ballasts and confirmation of operation.
Contractors are encouraged to attend the site visit. The Borough anticipates this project costs will
not exceed $25,000. The Contractor shall remove the existing T-12 Fluorescent light fixtures and provide and install T-5
high-output ceiling-mounted light fixtures and lights. See attached drawing, E2.2. The Contractor
is to make use of the existing mounting and suspension rods, and conduit where possible, and
meet all NEC and other applicable codes. The resulting lighting replacement is to result in a 50-
lumen light exposure reading at the bay floor, to support vehicle and equipment maintenance.
The Contractor shall provide and install ceiling-mounted 54-Watt T-5 High Output fluorescent light
fixtures and lights, in four (4) or six (6) lamp configuration with suspension capability, so as to
provide the necessary 50-lumen reading at floor level into the 100’ by 100’ emergency vehicle bay.
The Contractor shall remove and replace four (4) light fixtures at double doors. The Contractor
shall provide and install four wall-mounted two (2) tube enclosed 54-Watt T-5 light fixtures with
reflective lenses, one each above the three double doors and one above the storage area on the
west wall.
