Notice is hereby given that the Owner, Valparaiso Community Schools, Valparaiso, Indiana will receive sealed bids at the Valparaiso Community Schools, Administration Building, 3801 North Campbell Street, Valparaiso, Indiana 46385, for the following lighting retrofit project. Valparaiso Community Schools Lighting Retrofit Project Valparaiso, Indiana A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 9:00 am at Service Center, 55 Evans Street, Valparaiso, Indiana 46385 with a walkthrough following. Attendance at this meeting is a required condition for the contract award to the successful Bidder. Bids may be mailed or hand delivered to the Valparaiso Community Schools Administration Building, 3801 North Campbell Street, Valparaiso, IN 46385, c/o Sharon Qualkenbush, Chief Financial Officer, and received by 1:00 pm local time on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after such time will be returned unopened. Bids may be withdrawn prior to such time, but no bids, including Alternate Bids shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days thereafter. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. Conditional Bids will not be accepted. A single "Lump Sum" Proposal is solicited for all work in this project as shown in the Project Manual and as specified herein. CONTRACT # VCS001 DIVISION OF WORK Valparaiso Community Schools Lighting Retrofit Project Bids shall be properly executed and submitted on a current State Board of Accounts Form 96 with financial data as recent as possible and include a non-collusion Affidavit and Alternate Bids, together with the other documents required by the "Instructions to Bidders" in Specifications. A Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to "Valparaiso Community Schools", shall accompany the Bid in accordance with "Instructions to Bidders", to guarantee the successful Bidder will enter into contract with the School Corporation according to the terms of the Contract Documents, including furnishing of a satisfactory "Performance Bond". Bidder may file either a Bid Bond or a Certified Check with his bid. All work shall be done in accordance with Contract Documents for this project and work shall be completed within time period ad provided in Instructions to Bidders. The Project Manual (which included both drawings and specifications) will be on file for review by prospective Bidders at the following location after January 24, 2013 . 1.
