The Housing Authority of the City of LaFayette, Georgia (hereinafter referred to as LaFayette Housing Authority) will receive bids for the following Project: Building Green - New Sustainable Housing until 1:30 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at LaFayette Housing Authority 300 Oak Street LaFayette, GA. At this time, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work will include all labor, materials, and services necessary for the Demolition, Hazardous Material Abatement, Site and Building Construction of a total of thirty (30) housing residences in 15 duplex buildings on two sites in LaFayette, Georgia for the LaFayette Housing Authority. The two sites are located on: (1) Foster Circle; and (2) South Steele Street near its intersection with Culberson Avenue. The Project will be awarded by base bid with selected alternatives. Copies of the documents may be obtained from the printing companies directly. The Architect and the LaFayette Housing Authority will not have any documents available for review or distribution. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the Housing Authority of the City of LaFayette, Georgia, U.S. Government bonds, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid must be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. All bonds must be signed by a Georgia Resident or Resident Agent. NOTE: THE SURETY SHALL BE ACCEPTABLE TO THE LAFAYETTE HOUSING AUTHORITY AND SHALL BE CURRENTLY LISTED AS AN APPROVED SURETY IN THE U.S. TREASURY DEPARTMENT CIRCULAR NUMBER 570 TO ACT AS SURETY ON BONDS SECURING GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS. Each bid must include the Non-Collusive Affidavit and the Previous Participation Certificate signed by the bidder and on the correct HUD forms. All bidders are advised to ensure that the HUD Form 2530 is completed accurately and each block completed. If the HUD Form 2530 is not correct, the contract award date may be delayed. Contractor shall be licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia. Proof of licensure will be required on the outside of the Bid Envelope before bid will be considered. Subcontractors whose contracts exceed $50,000.00 must also be licensed according to the State of Georgia Law and show proof thereof. Additional sustainable construction qualification information will be requested of the bidders. Detailed requirements will be outlined in the bid package. Housing and Sustainable construction project experience will be requested from the bidders and considered with the bids.
