Description:
Sealed bids for the City of Newport - City Hall HVAC Replacement in Lincoln County, Oregon will be received by Timothy Gross, PE, Public Works Director/City Engineer, at 169 SW Coast Highway, Newport OR 97365, until 2:00 p.m., August 2nd, 2012 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. All interested parties are invited to attend. Subcontractor declarations must be delivered to Owner as above no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of the bid opening.
A brief description of the scope of work is provided below:
The work location is the Newport City Hall, 169 SW Coast Highway, Newport, OR 97365. The work consists of providing all labor and materials to install five (5) new rooftop HVAC units to replace the five (5) existing units. The work also includes relocating the existing variable frequency drives from the rooftop to the building's attic. All labor and materials necessary for the associated electrical and mechanical work will be incidental.

Bid documents are posted on the City of Newport website. Bid documents may be downloaded without cost from the City website. Bidders must be registered on the City plan holders list. Interested bidders may register on the City website or call the City of Newport Public Works Dept. Copies of the Bidding documents may be obtained from the City of Newport with a non-refundable payment of $40.00 per set, payable to the City of Newport.
No bid will be considered unless fully completed in the manner provided in the Instructions to Bidders, and accompanied by a bid security, executed in favor of the Owner, in the amount not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid.
A statement of qualification detailing projects of similar scope and complexity will be a mandatory part of the bid documentation.
This contract is for public work and is subject to ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870 regarding prevailing wage Rates. Licensing under ORS 468A.720 is not required.
A mandatory pre-bid walk-through for this project, with Engineer and Owner will be held July 26, 1:30 PM, City Hall.
