Description:
The Housing Authority Of the City of Milledgeville, Georgia will receive bids for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to construct: MILLEDGEVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY, IQC, TASK 7, 2011 CFP, MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA - 1138, consisting of interior/exterior modifications related to electrical and HVAC upgrades for various dwelling units at two developments. Bids will be received until 2:00 PM Local Current Standard Time on August 14, 2012 at the Administration Building of the Milledgeville Housing Authority at 545 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Milledgeville, Georgia. At that time, all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals submitted by mail should be addressed to the Milledgeville Housing Authority, P.O. Box 1743, 545 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Milledgeville, Georgia 30159 and plainly marked as indicated in the Instructions to Bidders, Section OB. Proposed Contract Forms, Drawings and Specifications are on file at the office of the Architect, SRJ Architects Inc., 1108 Maryland Drive, Albany, Georgia 31707, telephone (229) 436-9877. Two copies of the documents may be obtained by Prime Contractors by depositing $100.00 with the Architect for each set of documents so obtained. Prime Contractors who return the documents complete and in good condition within ten days after the bid opening will be refunded their full deposit. If documents are not returned, the entire deposit will be forfeited. Prime Contractors may purchase additional sets and subcontractors and material suppliers may purchase sets of the documents for the cost of reproduction which is $100.00 per set. This is not refundable. No partial sets will be issued. Shipping charges are in addition to deposit. Checks shall be made payable to the Milledgeville Housing Authority. A certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, payable to the Housing Authority, or satisfactory bond executed by an acceptable surety on the Bid Bond form contained in the Specifications, or other form acceptable to HUD and the LHA, and in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond(s) in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. All sureties must be authorized to transact business in the State of Georgia and must be listed on the U.S. Treasury Department Circular No. 570 (most current list), published annually listing companies approved to act as surety on bonds securing government contracts, and said surety or sureties must be in accordance with maximum underwriting limits on each contract as specified in the above mentioned Circular No. 570. Before the opening of bids, bidders or their representatives may attend a Prebid Conference with representatives of the LHA and the Architect.
