The Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority (THEA) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors interested in providing THEA with the labor and equipment for the installation of THEA provided light fixtures to illuminate the "wave banners", overhead structure supports and palm trees present along the Meridian Avenue corridor. The project also includes furnishing and installing supporting infrastructure (mounting arms, conduits, conductors, etc.) to create a fully operational lighting system, as well as furnishing and installing up-lighting to illuminate oak trees along the corridor. All work is located in Hillsborough County, Florida, (the "project"). A Pre-Bid Conference and Project Site Tour will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the THEA Board Room located on the 1st floor of the Transportation Management Center located at 1104 East Twiggs Street, Tampa, FL 33602. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. The ITB is available through a link on THEA's website (www.tampa-xway.com) and the DemandStar System (www.demandstar.com). Interested firms shall submit a completed response to the THEA, 1104 East Twiggs Street, Suite 300, 3rd Floor, Tampa, FL 33602. Sealed bids are due by Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at which time all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Firms failing to submit the required ITB Documents as outlined on Form B1 may be deemed non-responsive to the ITB. THEA strongly encourages the solicitation and utilization of SBE firms and requires nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, sex and national origin in its employment and contracting practices.
