Sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Jefferson Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for: HVAC Improvements at Jefferson Hills Municipal Center. The Project will consist of, but is not limited to removal and replacement of air cooled water chiller with new unit, replacement of air cooled condensing unit and replacement of existing pneumatic control system with new DDC control system. All bids must be received by 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in the Office of the Borough Manager, Douglas Arndt, Borough of Jefferson Hills, 925 Old Clairton Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter. Bids shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words, "HVAC Improvements at Jefferson Hills Municipal Center" Copies of the Bidding Documents are on file and open to public inspection at the office of McLean Architects, 809 Bingham Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203 where sets of said documents may be obtained upon deposit of$100 per set. Bidding Documents will be sent upon receipt of deposit. Faxed copies of checks are not acceptable. The architect will not be responsible for timely arrival of bidding documents being mailed via United States Postal Service. No refund will be made for the return of any documents. Bidding Documents are also on file at the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange, 1813 N. Franklin Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15233 and McGraw Hill Construction, 600 Waterfront Drive, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Business Offices of the Jefferson Hills Municipal Center. Interested parties should attend. Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages are required to be paid on the project. Bids to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Borough of Jefferson Hills in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will enter into an agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. The Bids must be made to the Borough of Jefferson Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days. No Bidder may withdraw his bid during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Bid guarantee. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein. The Bidder is advised that the Borough will award the contract to the lower responsible bidder based on the total bid submitted. However, the bidder is advised that the Borough expressly reserves the right to reject all bids, and specifically reserves the right to award to the lowest responsible bidder a contract for all or any portions listed in the bid.
