Sealed proposals for the UCIMC Lighting Retrofit Phase II, Project No. 994008 at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Retrofit existing high-wattage lamps and/or ballasts with reduced wattage lamps, and replace standard light switches with automatic motion or daylight sensors. Contractor will supply and install new energy efficient & reduced wattage lamps and/or ballasts and for 23 buildings (approx. 1,024,000 gsf) at the UC Irvine Medical Center. Work to start January 2012 with 90 calendar day schedule from NTP to substantial completion. Est. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS*: Must have completed a minimum of two projects which were each at least $700,000 in construction cost: one Lighting Retrofit project in an occupied healthcare facility, one project in an OSHPD building within in the past 5 years, and two completed projects built in California w/ a minimum construction cost of $700,000. Bidders not meeting the qualifications in the Contract Documents will not be eligible for award. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Current and active "C10" Electrical Contractor" CA contractor's license. BID SUBMITTAL REQS: Sealed Bids due 2PM, 12/13/12. Rec'd at: UCIMC, Planning Administration, 101 The City Drive S., Bldg. 27, Rm No. 136, Orange, CA 92868. Contract will be awarded to lowest responsive bidder. MANDATORY PRE-BID CONF: 12/06/12 Pre-Bid Conf and Site Visit promptly at 9:30 AM at, UCIMC Building 56, Rooms 113 & 114, 101 The City Dr. South, Orange, CA 92868. ONLY GC's attending can submit bids. ADD'L REQS: 10% bid security and 100% payment & performance bonds. Surety issuing bonds shall be an admitted surety insurer (as defined in the CA Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). Successful GC and subs must follow nondiscrimination req's in Bid Docs and pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.
