Energy Project RFP Alert - US PA - The Wyomissing Area School District Bid - Boiler Room Equipment Upgrades

Sealed proposals for the following project: Boiler Room Equipment Upgrades Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School Proposals must be received by 3:30 p.m., prevailing time, on January 9, 2013 at the Wyomissing Area School District Administration Offices, 630 Evans Avenue, Wyomissing, PA 19610. (610) 374-0739. Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud beginning at 3:30 p.m. In general the work consists of replacement of central hydronic heating boilers, pumps and domestic water heating plant equipment as well as secondary electrical system work. An existing underground oil storage tank will be removed. Demolition of an existing storage shed and construction of a new masonry storage building. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on December 19, 2012 starting at 3:30 p.m. prevailing time at the Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School. Attendees may enter near the rear of the High School at door # 18. All attendees will be required to sign-in to verify attendance. Meeting minutes will be prepared and sent to all attendees. The Work shall be performed under a single contract. One set of bid documents, drawings and specifications will be available at the office of Consolidated Engineers, 1022 James Drive, Leesport, PA. 19533, for a non-refundable fee of $200.00 per set. Checks shall be made payable to Consolidated Engineers. Prospective bidders are advised that the work to be performed is subject to and governed by the provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act including all amendments and supplements. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate and on forms included in the bid documents. Proposals submitted on forms other than those provided may be rejected. Proposals are to be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope, addressed to the Owner, identified with the Project name. Proposals are to include the following: 1. A certified check, bank cashier's check, or a bid bond on the forms included in the contract documents, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the base bid as indicated in paragraph 4.3.1, Instructions to Bidders. 2. A Contractor's Qualifications Statement and a Non-collusion Affidavit as indicated in paragraph 4.3.3, Instructions to Bidders. Successful bidders will be required to furnish a 100% Performance and Payment Bond. The cost of the Bonds shall be included in the bid amount. All Bids will be effective for a period of 60 days. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any irregularities or technicalities in any bid, and to make awards in the best interest of the School District.
