Energy Project RFP Alert - US NY - The Syrcuase Va Medical Center Bid - Upgrade Rome Cboc Exterior Lighting To Led

Alert Type:
Bid

Description:
The Syrcuase VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA") has a requirement to Upgrade the Rome CBOC Clinic Lighting. The Rome Outpatient Clinic is located in the Griffiss Business Park at 125 Brookley Road, Building 510, Rome, NY 13441-4301. The work includes but is not limited to the following:

Replace exterior light poles, bases, and all associated branch wiring as outlined in the plans and specifications. The contractor shall possess qualifications to do the following types of work: road, site, earth work, carpentry, concrete, and electrical work.

The existing pole lights and bases are no longer cost effective to maintain and repair. The new reduced wattage LED fixture design will provide increased energy savings, an updated look, safer maintainability and enhanced patient safety. The direct burial branch wiring feeding these lights has been damaged and must be replaced and installed in a conduit system. The existing poles also lack proper grounding and fuse protection for the safety of equipment and personnel. Parking lot fixtures will be re-circuited to emergency power to enhance physical security. Lighting poles will be reduced in number to account for improved optics which will illuminate the walkway areas to a level specified in the plans and specifications.

Due to the nature of this contract the contractor may be required to work after hours and during inclimate weather conditions, so as not to interrupt the daily operations of the facility.

The VA intends to release this as a competitive Invitation for Bids (IFB) on or about the week of March 11th. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 238210, "Electrical Contractors." The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $25,000 and $150,000.

Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full IFB will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov).
