Energy Project RFP Alert - US IN - Porter County Bid - Hvac Equipment Replacement

Alert Type: Bid Description: Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Porter County, Indiana will receive sealed bids until 12:00 P.M. CST, April 2, 2013 at office of the Porter County Auditor, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 204, Valparaiso, Indiana to be opened by the Porter County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. CST. A bidder's conference and site visit will be conducted on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., CST. Please meet at the south entrance of the Porter County Courthouse, 16 East Lincolnway, Valparaiso IN 46383, at 1:00 p.m. Bid specifications may be obtained at the office of the Porter County Auditor. Bids must be submitted on State Board of Accounts Form 96 and be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit. Either a bid bond or certified check payable to Porter County equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Base Bid and all add Alternate Bid items associated with the each Project must be included. A financial statement, which complies with the requirements set forth in the bid specifications, must accompany each bid. Each bid shall be submitted in triplicate in a sealed envelope clearly marked, including applicable project: "PORTER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: BIDS FOR HVAC REPLACEMENT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, COURTHOUSE, AND JAIL PORTER COUNTY, INDIANA" The Porter County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, waive all informalities or irregularities in bidding and to readvertise. The Porter County Board of Commissioners will utilize evaluation criteria set forth in the bid pursuant to IC 5-22-7-2 and the bid shall be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder pursuant to IC 5-22-7-8. Work under this project is subject to the wage scale in accordance with the Indiana Common Construction Wage Act as the anticipated cost of the project is greater than $350,000. The contractor shall appoint a company executive to assume the responsibility for the implementation of the requirements, terms and conditions of bid conditions. As required by Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11 for certain contracts executed after June 20, 2011 and as required by I.C. 5-22-16.5 for contracts executed after July 1, 2012. Pursuant to Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11, the Contractor entering into a contract with Porter County is required to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program. The Contractor is not required to verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program if the E-Verify program no longer exists. The Contractor, being first duly sworn, deposes and states that the Contractor does not knowingly employ an unauthorized alien. The contractor further affirms that, prior to entering into its contract with Porter County, the undersigned Contractor will enroll in and agrees to verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program.
