Energy Project RFP Alert - US DC - Department Of The Navy Bid - Lighting Retrofit Services And Products

Alert Type:
Bid

Description:
Military Sealift Command (MSC) is asking potential offerors of lighting retrofit services for information on their services and products that meet the criteria described below. The U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command is the premier provider of ocean transportation to the Department of Defense. The command operates approximately 110 non-combatant, civilian-crewed ships that replenish U.S. Navy ships, conduct specialized missions, and strategically preposition combat cargo at sea around the world and move military cargo and supplies used by deployed U.S. forces and coalition partners. MSC’s fleet consists of the Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force, Special Mission Ships, Prepositioning Ships and Sealift Ships. In an effort to efficiently continue the missions of each of these programs, MSC is committed to reducing energy use to ensure maritime readiness. Improving energy efficiency of MSC’s fleet will reduce fuel consumption and improve MSC’s fleet readiness. MSC’s Energy Conservation Program has identified the replacement of T12 fluorescent lights as a potential source of significant energy savings; therefore, MSC is looking for companies to provide lighting retrofit services and lighting products (light bulbs and ballasts).
