The City of North Little Rock will receive sealed bids for BOILER REPLACEMENT FOR THE CITY SERVICES BUILDING until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Department of Commerce and Government Affairs, City Administration Building, 120 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids shall be on the forms with the specifications and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of North Little Rock Department of Commerce and Government Affairs, 120 Main, North Little Rock, Arkansas and marked “Bid for Boiler Replacement for the City Services Building, North Little Rock, Arkansas”. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or a corporate surety’s bidder’s bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, made payable to the City of North Little Rock, as a guarantee that the bidder will furnish a bond and enter into a contract if bid is accepted. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond, and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: 1. PETTIT & PETTIT CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., Heritage West Building, Suite 400, 201 East Markham, Little Rock, AR 72201 1. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE & GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS 120 Main Street, City Administration Building, North Little Rock, AR 72114 2. www.northlittlerock.ar.gov Bids may be secured from the office of PETTIT & PETTIT CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. for a refundable $50.00 per set. All Bidders must conform to the requirements of the Arkansas State Licensing Law for General Contractors set forth in Act 150 of the 1965 General Assembly of the State of Arkansas. Bids will be considered on the basis of cost, the bidder’s financial responsibility, equipment, and past performance in completing similar work. No bidder may withdraw his Bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the contract documents must be paid on the project, and that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The City of North Little Rock hereby notifies all Bidders that this contract is subject to applicable Labor Laws, Non-Discrimination Provisions, Wage Rates and other Federal Laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply. The City of North Little Rock encourages participation from MBE/DBE/WBE and SBA vendors. The City of North Little Rock reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
