Alert Type:
RFI

Description:
The U. S. Postal Service (USPS) is seeking Qualification Statements from prime contractors wishing to be prequalified for an HVAC Replacement at the Charleston, WV Main Post Office. This USPS-owned facility is located at 1001 Lee Street East in Charleston, WV. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: Nine (9) new Variable Volume Packaged RTUs will be added, and three (3) existing RTUs serving the work floor area will be integrated into the new HVAC system. The existing AHUs and fan coil units (FCU) will be abandoned in place unless installation of the new HVAC equipment requires their removal. Air distribution systems will be modified to connect the new RTUs to the existing ductwork. Where no ductwork currently exists due to the use of FCUs, a new air distribution system will be installed to provide conditioned air to the mezzanine and mail floor levels. The existing obsolete and malfunctioning control system will be replaced by a USPS Standard Design compliant control system manufactured by Grid Point. The new control system will include a main control panel interface to manage the HVAC operations without the need of a workstation computer. New sensors and switches will be provided to monitor the new HVAC system and communicate data to the control panel. All work is to be done in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. This facility is an occupied functioning postal facility and there can be no disruption of postal operations. The total construction time for the project is 270 days; estimated cost range is $1,100,000.00 - $1,200,000.00.
