Sealed bids from qualified contractors will be received by the Purchasing Department of FLOYD COUNTY GEORGIA, at #12 East Fourth Ave, Suite 106 Rome, Georgia 30161, until 2:00 P.M. legally prevailing time on November 8, 2012, late bids will not be accepted, for: HVAC CONTROL UPGRADE SARA HIGHTOWER REGIONAL LIBRARY General Scope of work: This project is being undertaken to upgrade the existing original HVAC control system at the Sara Hightower Library in Rome. Some portions of the system have failed since the original system was installed, and a number of energy saving measures will also be implemented as part of this project. Project includes, but is not limited to, all labor, materials, equipment, and programming required for upgrading DDC control components of existing air cooled chiller, two hot water boilers, pumps, two VAV air handlers and all terminal units, electric baseboard heaters, hot water unit heaters, exhaust fans, and split DX systems. MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING AND SITE VISIT- October 22, 2012 @ 10:00AM. Participants will meet at the main entrance of the Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, Rome Georgia 30161. Bids will not be accepted from contractors not attending this meeting. Bidders must submit the following information to qualify: Copy of Georgia State HVAC commercial contractor s license. List of comparable projects completed within the last three (3) years to include cost of construction. All included forms must be completed and returned with bid. Participation in the federal work authorization program (E-Verify) is required. Contract Security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required upon award. A 5% Bid Bond is required with bid. After the time and in the Purchasing Department Conference Room Suite 106, the bids will be publicly opened and read. No extension of the bidding period will be made. Updates and changes to this project will be posted on these sites and is the responsibility of the contractor to check regularly. Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis or individual item basis, whichever is in the best interest of the County. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after time has been called on the date of opening. The County reserves the right to waive compliance by any applicant with any provision contained in this request whenever the County in its sole discretion believes such waiver is in the County s best interests.
