ENERGY EFFICIENT HVAC UNITS WITH AN ALTERNATE REQUEST TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL HVAC UNITS AND AN ALTERNATE REQUEST TO INSTALL HVAC UNITS AT RED LEVEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AUDITORIUM Sealed proposals will be received for the above referenced project by Mr. R. Terry Holley, Superintendent, at the Covington County Board of Education (CCBOE), Andalusia, Alabama, until 2:30 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012, then publicly opened and read aloud. Specifications and Contract Documents are open to public inspection at the CCBOE Central Office and are available online at www.cov. k12.al.us under the Business/Finance Tab and then Forms & Documents Section. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the CCBOE. The CCBOE reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the interest of the CCBOE will thereby be promoted. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to the CCBOE in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder’s proposal. A performance bond will be required at the signing of the Contract. Scope: CCBOE is seeking contract pricing for the purchase and installation of energy efficient HVAC units at Red Level Elementary School, Straughn Middle School, Straughn Elementary School, and Pleasant Home School. Also, as Alternate Bid #1, the CCBOE desires to contract with a vendor for future purchases and/or installation of Energy Efficient HVAC Units on a per unit basis. Additionally, as Alternate Bid #2, the CCBOE desires to contract with a vendor for the removal of roof top units at Red Level Elementary School Auditorium and the replacement with Wall-Mounted HVAC Units. There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Thursday, March 30, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Red Level Elementary School location. Contact Mark Grantham for further information. Completion Time: All work shall be completed by June 15, 2012.
