The Carbon County Housing Authority will receive sealed bids until 10:00 a.m., April 25, 2012, for the replacement of two (2) gas boilers located in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Sealed bids will be opened and read aloud at 10:00 a.m., April 25, 2012, at the Carbon County Housing Authority. This work is being done in conjunction with Capital Fund Program No. PA26P06750112. Specifications can be obtained at the Carbon County Housing Authority, 215 South Third Street, Lehighton, Pennsylvania, at 610 377-9375. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin or handicap; that a mandatory ration of apprentices and trainees to journeymen is required in each craft and the Contractor (and any subcontractors) is obliged to make a "diligent effort" to achieve these ratios; and that to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment be given to lower income of the project area businesses located in or owned in substantial part by project area residents. The Contractor, in accordance with Executive Orders 11625 and 12138, must utilize to the greatest extent feasible minority and/or women owned business concerns that are located within the municipality, county or the general trade area. The Carbon County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding.
