Energy Project RFP Alert - US FL - Stem Education RFP - Energy-Related Classroom Projects

Alert Type:
RFP

Description:
All public, private, and charter school teachers at elementary, middle, and high schools in FPL's service territory are eligible to apply for grants for classroom projects focused on any form of energy education. Teachers may submit more than one project application as long as the projects address more than one energy topic. Applications from teams will be accepted, but only one grant will be given per project. Teams should select one member to be the reporting and administrative manager of the grant. Teachers are required to report results at the conclusion of their project. Teachers who have received funding in the past but did not submit a final report are not eligible for funding. Field trips are not eligible for funding.
Awards will be made at the $500 or $1,000 levels to teachers or teaching teams, and $2,500 to school districts developing projects for multiple schools and a large number of students. The grants will be paid to the school and designated for the sole purpose of funding the winning project. Grant awards will be announced in early December 2012, with grants distributed by the end of January 2012.
