RFP Description:
The Borough of Midland is seeking sealed bids for a qualified company to replace and install two (2) old Carrier HVAC rooftop units. The proposal should include the following items: cost of labor, materials, crane service and equipment for the installation of one (1) Carrier 7.5 ton and one (1) Carrier 6.0 Ton model No. 48TCED gas fired rooftop units. The new rooftop units will have to sit on new pressure treated 4X4 timbers. New fully-integrated economizers and smoke detectors will have to be mounted in the return air of each rooftop. Duct transitions should be fabricated and installed to match the existing duct work. Gas piping will have to be rerouted, connected and tested to the replacement units. A licensed electrical contractor will have to be provided to reconnect the power wiring and replace the two (2) safety disconnect switches, one for each rooftop. The old rooftops units will have to be decertified, refrigerant will have to be recovered and sent to a recycling center for disposal. Warranties: Rooftop Units warranties and details should be provided with bid submission. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope endorsed with the name of the bidder and must clearly state the following: Response to Request for Proposals for Replacement of Two Old Carrier HVAC Rooftop Units: and a certified check, bid bond or other security in the amount of 10% of the amount of the bid must accompany all bids. All bids must be delivered to the office of the Borough Manager no later than 4:30 p.m., prevailing time, on March 7, 2012. All bids will be opened at the regular meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of Midland on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 6:00 p.m., prevailing time. The Borough of Midland reserves the right to waive any formal defects or other irregularities and further reserves the right to reject any and all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days of the actual opening thereof. Diane M.
