Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Hoover at the City Council Cham- bers, 100 Municipal Lane, Hoover, Alabama 35216 until 3:00 p.m. CST January 2, 2013 for the Hoover Fire Station No. 3 Upstairs Renovation and HVAC Replacement (Bid No. 01-13), at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City of Hoover in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Labor and Material Pay- ment Bonds, proof of insurance, and a com- plete list of subcontractors and suppliers will be required prior to the signing of the Contract. The Contractor whose Bid is selected must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Bid amount and a payment bond for fifty percent (50%) of the Bid amount. Bonds must be secured from a bonding company's representative agent authorized and licensed to do busi- ness in the state of Alabama. Each bond shall be countersigned by an agent of the Surety having residence in the state of Ala- bama, and is authorized and licensed to do business in the state of Alabama and each bond shall depict the complete address of said agent. Drawings and Specifications may be ex- amined at the office of Barry Davis, Archi- tects, P.C. 100 Chase Park South, Suite 112, Hoover, Alabama 35244 (205)444-1112, and the F. W. Dodge Plan Room in Birmingham. Direct any questions to Barry Davis. Bid Documents may be obtained from the office of the Architect upon deposit of $50.00 per set, which will be refunded in full on the first two sets issued to each general contract bidder submitting a bona fide bid, upon return of documents in good condition within ten calender days of bid date. Other sets may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 per set, non-refundable. No partial sets will be issued. The Archi- tect will not deliver Bid Documents. A mandatory pre-bid conference is sched- uled for 9:00 a.m. CST December 18, 2012 at Fire Station No. 3 located at 803 River- chase Parkway, Hoover, Alabama. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding amounts ex- ceeding $50,000.00 must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be re- ceived or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. In addition, proposals shall be clearly identified on the exterior of the package with the bidder's name, address, the name of the project be- ing bid, and time and place of the bid open- ing. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in triplicate. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
