Sealed bids from HVAC Contractors for the controls upgrade and boiler replacement for the Medford Housing Authority in Medford, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by MacRitchie Engineering. The Project consists of the replacement of existing pneumatic control valves & thermostates with new electronic control valves & thermostat, for nine buildings at the site, additionally the project includes the replacement of a gas fired boiler in building 18 as an add alternate. Also included as an add alternate will be the demolition of nine abandoned boilers located in the buildings which require asbestos abatement. The work is estimated to cost $201,687.00 Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 ?44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 6 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) in the category of HVAC. General Bids will be received until 10:00am, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 and publicly opened, forthwith. Filed sub-bids for the trades listed below will be received until 10:00am, Thursday, September 6, 2012 and opened forthwith. Filed sub-bidders must be DCAM certified for the trades listed below and bidders must include a current DCAM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAM Sub-Bidders Update Statement. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Medford Housing Authority Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for viewing at Medford Housing Authority, 121 Riverside Ave., Medford, MA 02155.
