The US Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District has a need to replace a furnace at Grays Landing Lock and Dam, Monongahela River, in Masontown (Fayette County), Pennsylvania. The conditioned space is approximately two floors at 2000 sq ft per floor. The work consists of removing and disposing the existing R-22 outdoor heat pump unit, the indoor refrigerant air handler unit, the zone and bypass dampers, refrigerant piping, thermostats and all ductwork associated with the existing system necessary to adapt new air handler unit to the existing ductwork. The new work shall consist of furnishing and installing a new R-410a air handler system with auxiliary electric heat and a heat pump unit, a thermostat and an outdoor electrical kill switch. Modifications to the existing ductwork shall include: Removing a section of the existing first floor ductwork system, installing new resized ductwork in the same location and installing new ductwork in second floor. New diffusers and dampers shall be provided for the office spaces. All of the supply and return ductwork shall be insulated as per IMC and IECC. This work will require removing portions of the existing lay-in ceiling and T-bars/cross-Ts, and shall be reinstalled and re-used once the ductwork modifications are completed.
